EATiP at the FAO FISH4ACP workshop on aquatic value chains
On 22 October, EATiP took part in “The transformative power of aquatic value chains”, organised in Brussels by FAO’s FISH4ACP programme and the NAVAC (New Aquatic Food Value Chains) Global Gateway initiative, bringing together public and private actors from the aquaculture, processing and fisheries sectors.
Our Board Member Dr. Mieke Eggermont (University of Ghent), Chair of our Mirror Platforms Working Group, joined the panel discussion on behalf of EATiP, highlighting the role of the platform in the development of aquaculture and the potential linkages between the EU sector and other regions of the world — with EATiP’s experience in Southeast Asia — notably through the EURASTiP project — drawing particular interest for how its lessons could be adapted to the African context.
We thank FAO for the invitation and look forward to continuing the discussion and exploring opportunities for future collaboration with the FAO, the European Commission and other partners.
