The Vision of the European aquaculture industry is, by the year 2030, to provide annually 4.5 million tons of sustainable food products, worth € 14 billion, and supporting more than 150,000 direct jobs.
European Technology Platforms (ETPs) are industry-led stakeholder fora recognised by the European Commission as key actors in driving innovation, knowledge transfer and European competitiveness.
EATIP has pro-active contacts with other European Technology Platforms, notably with those developing the Bioeconomy, so as to identify and promote synergies that can stimulate innovation within European aquaculture.

Focus on implementation and actions
EATIP has created 2 working groups, adressing knowledge management and international cooperation, using approaches that mobilise and support SME participation, while providing mutual benefits and added-value. These working groups supplement the guidance provided by the EATIP Thematic Area.
Mirror Platform (MiP)
The MiP Working Group aims to mobilise and support SMEs within national, regional and European R&I developments.
International Cooperation (INCO)
The Working Group INCO is charged with identifying actions of mutual benefit for the sustainable development of global aquaculture.
